RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Guitarist Faces 'Iron Man'
May 6, 2008The Pulse of Radio reports: If you're one of the tens of millions of people who saw "Iron Man" this past weekend, you might have noticed that a guard in the terrorist camp where the early part of the film takes place looked a lot like RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE guitarist Tom Morello. A glance at the cast list during the closing credits confirmed that Morello does indeed make a cameo appearance in the film, although he has no dialogue and gets creamed by the first incarnation of "Iron Man" pretty quickly. Morello also played guitar on part of the film's score, which was composed by Hans Zimmer.
Morello's previous acting credits include "Star Trek: Insurrection" and "Made". The latter was directed by Jon Favreau, who also directed "Iron Man".
The guitarist has also contributed to the scores of "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" and "Dodgeball".
Morello just completed a stint as THE NIGHTWATCHMAN on the Justice Tour '08 and will hit Europe with RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE later this month to begin a series of summer festival shows.
"Iron Man", which stars Robert Downey Jr. as the Marvel Comics super hero, earned more than $100 million at the box office since opening on Friday (May 2),with a sequel already announced for spring of 2010.
